LUXURY
SAFARI ITINERARY
On our safaris we offer a style of travel which is
extremely comfortable, yet allows our guests the opportunity to get
off the beaten track and away from the ‘main routes’.
This is a relaxed alternative to a lodge safari and designed
for those who prefer to sleep under canvas in comfort and get away
from the crowds.
Although the safari vehicles are roomy and open on
all sides to allow the feel of Africa to permeate, it is fully under
canvas cover overhead to keep you out of the glaring sun. The seats
are high and comfortable and ideal for game-viewing and photography.
Inside your safari vehicle you will find a selection of reference
books on Botswana’s parks, its history, flora and fauna as well as a
fridge with cold drinks.
Your host and guide is fully licenced and highly
experienced. He is accompanied by a full support crew, consisting of a
mechanic, cook, waiter and camp manager, who will go along in a
back-up vehicle to take care of all the camp chores and ensure that
you are well looked after. The support vehicle goes ahead of the group
and sets up the camp to await your leisurely arrival. Your guide and his assistants are experienced professionals who will
prioritise your comfort and safety as well as ensuring optimal
game-viewing opportunities throughout your safari with us.
You will be accommodated in spacious 3,5m x 3,5m
walk-in tents with big screened doors and windows to keep your
sleeping quarters free of any insects. Each tent has an en suite bush
shower and long-drop toilet at the back and a shady verandah in front.
Inside the tents are two single beds with comfortable
mattresses and full bedding, bedside tables and lamps. Outside each
tent there are a wash stand, vanity bag and mirror and comfortable
chair for each person. The large mess (or dining tent) has
director-style camp chairs and tables with full linen, crockery and
cutlery.
Our friendly cook will provide scrumptious 3-course
meals, which will either be served in the mess tent or under the stars
by our camp waiter. Meals usually consist of a continental
breakfast before the early morning game drive, a cooked brunch on your
return to camp for siesta or a light picnic lunch on days that we move
camp from one area to another, afternoon tea and biscuits, snacks with
your sundowners and a hearty three-course dinner.
We supply all drinks: coffee, tea, soft drinks and bottled
water during game drives and at lunch time, your favourite tipple for
sundowners and a choice of wine for dinner.

Northern Chobe is famous for its elephant & buffalo herds, puku,
kudu, Chobe bushbuck and hippo. One could also hope to see: lion,

a game drive. When we meet up with the supply vehicle again we drive
to Savuti in convoy. The drive lasts approx five hours with a picnic

the now dry Savuti Channel while we explore our new environment.

Savuti Marsh is typical open grassland surrounded by Acacia bush and
stony outcrops reminiscent of Serengeti.
GAME:
Savuti is famous for its lions and hyenas, lone elephant bulls, zebra
and wildebeest migrations. Other game one can hope to see include:

will explore the waterways by boat from Mboma Island.
TERRAIN: Moremi being an extension of the
Okavango, offers a typical wetland system with grassy plains and pans
surrounded by well-developed mopane forests and riverine woodland.
While out on the mokoros the terrain will alter to typical Okavango
Delta terrain with its grassy flood plains dotted with large termite
mounds, small islands fringed with palms and larger islands with
riparian forests of sausage and ebony trees. Water lilies adorn the
bracken-lined watercourses and streams.

SAFARI
BOTSWANA ENQUIRY FORM

"Traveler's Guide to Botswana by Peter
Comley and Salome Meyer. Struik, 1994. Reviewer David Steele (Getaway
Nov. 1994) says that for the first-time visitor this beautifully
illustrated work is practically essential reading. The book is laid
out in four parts: An introduction to Botswana, Getting around
Botswana, Exploring Botswana and a Visitor's Digest. According to
Steele the meat of this work is in the Exploring Botswana section
which features the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Makgadikgadi
and Nxai Pan National Park, the Kalahari, and Eastern Botswana and the
Tuli Block. The reviewer found the information to be accurate,
"...which is not at all surprising since (authors) Comley and
Meyer live in Botswana, guiding and conducting photographic safaris in
all of this country's major tourist areas."
