Botswana fly in lodge Safari.
Flights between Botswana Lodges. The Cessna 206 is the
ideal bush plane able to land and take off using the short airstrips
found on the delta islands. It is an incredibly stable and light
single engine craft with six seats including the pilot. Our pilots are
experienced in this terrain and you will enjoy some memorable flights
across the delta's myriad of waterways, often with aerial game viewing
on the way - so be sure to bring your camera in your hand luggage. All
flights are conducted with safety as the first priority, within strict
regulations of operation and with respect for wildlife and the
delicate eco-system of the delta - your pilot will ensure your flight
is as smooth, scenic and punctual as possible, within the prevailing
conditions. Flights vary from a short 'hop' between delta camps of
twenty minutes through to the longer flights to Kasane or the Kalahari
averaging one and a half hours. It is possible that you will pick up
other passengers en-route depending on the schedule of the day, the
pilot will advise you of your routing before you fly. Complimentary beverages
are offered before you fly (either at Maun airport or in camp) and it
is recommended that you accept a bottle of water, particularly on the
longer flights, but note that there are no bathroom facilities on
board the light aircraft. Please communicate any concerns about flying
with the pilot who will recommend a seating pattern in the plane based
on safety and weight distribution as well as client preferences.

"Traveler's Guide to Botswana by Peter
Comley and Salome Meyer. Struik, 1994. Reviewer David Steele (Getaway
Nov. 1994) says that for the first-time visitor this beautifully
illustrated work is practically essential reading. The book is laid
out in four parts: An introduction to Botswana, Getting around
Botswana, Exploring Botswana and a Visitor's Digest. According to
Steele the meat of this work is in the Exploring Botswana section
which features the Okavango Delta, Chobe National Park, Makgadikgadi
and Nxai Pan National Park, the Kalahari, and Eastern Botswana and the
Tuli Block. The reviewer found the information to be accurate,
"...which is not at all surprising since (authors) Comley and
Meyer live in Botswana, guiding and conducting photographic safaris in
all of this country's major tourist areas."
